A recipe has no soul. You, as the cook, must bring soul to the recipe -Thomas Keller
Well, speaking of soul,
you know how elusive it is and hard to make it palpable to the senses. However,
I’m giving it a try to infuse soul into what I’m cooking. If you’d care
to cheer for a newbie cook, please check out my recipes and dishes.
My blog is an expression
of my love for the Kitchen. It was my husband who discovered, encouraged my
passion for cooking and supported by all means. He has been my best food
critic. I haven’t obtained any professional training in cooking. I don’t
share a family heritage of culinary expertise either. I must confess that
I dig into food programs for tips. I also draw inspiration from the delicacies
I experience while travelling or eating out. In fact, I learnt basic cooking
from my mom, and I still try to reinvent the flavors of some of her traditional
Kerala dishes.
As the saying goes, the
belly rules the mind, and so Good Food stirs up Good Mood. Cooking is my source
of joy and my stress buster. I love to cook for my family and friends.
Food suggestions, I take it in a positive note and try to improvise myself,
considering them as my feedback forum. I like my food to be presented in a
simple, inviting, appetizing way. I’m always ready to explore and soak in
the ocean of food flavors and aroma of cuisines from around the world. I
celebrate the awesomeness of food and intend to explore cuisines from different
traditional recipes, simple everyday recipes, un-fussy and unpretentious
recipes. My focus is on making it all delicious and irresistible.
Am
happy to balance in my different roles, being a career women, to a home maker,
to a swimming coach to my kids and now a newbie into cook blog. My entry
to the blog is inspired by my friends who had more confidence in me than
myself. All the recipes that are and will be posted here are tried and
tested on my family and friends and have become their favorites. In
the enthusiasm to showcase my food in real and beautiful way, I have started
getting more interested in photography. I started my blog by clicking pictures
from my mobile. Lately I have been gifted with a decent camera from
hubby, so need to explore more on my new passion of photography in natural
lights without over exaggerating the food presentation.
Thanks for reading my
blog. Try my recipes, if you’re tempted and send me a pinch of your
comments which will spice up the Inish Kitchen.
