“Masala Pav” is basically bread rolls topped with a spicy vegetable masala. This instant yummy recipes comes together in just 15 minutes. So those days, when you want to make something quick and have Ladi pav or unsweetened bread at home, make this “Masala Pav”. I am sure you guys would love it as much as we did!

The best part about this recipes is that is not just stomach filling, this can be served any time of the day and all you need is three basic vegetables. Here I have used onion, tomatoes, capsicum, and spices!  Adding smashed potatoes is optional.

The success of this recipes is the balance between the heat, tangy, butter and the gravy consistency. The masala for “Masala Pav” is cooked on an Iron cast pan and the buns are smeared and fried in butter. Thereafter the cooked masala is humbly slathered on the fried Pav to absorb the goodness of the spices.

Here goes the humble recipes with the blend of simple spices.

Ingredients:

  • 6 Ladi Pav / bread
  • 4 tsp. Butter
  • 2 cloves Garlic, finely chopped
  • 2 Onion, finely chopped
  • 1 Capsicum, diced
  • 2 large Tomato finely chopped
  • ¼ tsp. Turmeric powder
  • 1.5 tsp. Kashmiri Chilli powder
  • 1 tsp. Coriander powder
  • ½ tsp. Cumin powder
  • ½ Lemon juice (optional)
  • ¼ cup Water or as required
  • 2 tbsp. Oil or Butter
  • 2 tbsp. Coriander leaves, finely chopped
  • Salt to taste

Procedure:

Making of “Masala”:

Chop the Onions, Tomatoes, Capsicum, Garlic and Coriander leaves.

Heat a Kadai/Pan. Add in Oil and saute the chopped Garlic and Onions until it becomes translucent.

Add in the chopped Capsicum, Tomatoes and saute for 2 minutes.

Add dry spices: Turmeric powder, Cumin powder, Chilly powder, Coriander powder and Salt

Saute on high flame until the spices are combined well. Add a couple of spoons of water if the mixture is getting dry. The masala shouldn't be very dry neither it should be watery. So cook till the masala reaches that semi gravy consistency.

Finally add in Butter, lemon juice and chopped Coriander leaves.

Making of “Pav”:

The Indian Pav also known as “Ladi Pav” goes well with this Masala.

Slit the Pav’s and spread some Butter on both the sides.

Toast the buttered Pav’s on both the sides till golden brown from both sides.

Dip the toasted Pav into the Masala or spread the Masala over the Pav with some onion slices and lemon wedges.

Super quick Snack / Breakfast is ready. Enjoy with a cup of garama garam steaming cup of masala chai!
