If you are looking for a yummylicious drink to serve your guests, then you must definitely give “Mohabbat Ka Sharbat” a try! “Mohabbat” means “Love” and “Sharbat” means “Drink”, the name literally translates to “Love Drink”.
The name sounds bollywood filmy, but I have no clue why this drink is called “Mohabbat Ka Sharbat” or “Pyaar Mohabbat Ka Sharbat”. This is a famous, refreshing and delicious summer drink from Delhi. It is been said that this drink became popular from a small shop on wheels, situated opposite Jama Masjid, run by a Nawab Qureshi, who is nicknamed as “Pyaar Mohabbat Sharbat Wala”. No idea, how true the short story is.
Watermelons are summer gift, because it is the most refreshing fruit. They are delicious on their own, but at times some fruit lack sweetness. This recipe is for those times. After a long summer day, drinking this juice is absolute bliss!
“Mohabbat Ka Sharbat” is made with Watermelon pieces and watermelon juice, mixed with chilled Milk and rose syrup. It is an instant relief from the scorching heat. When I tried this recipe for the first time, I was absolutely amazed on how the Roohafza enhances the taste of Watermelon and the chilled Milk adds more nutritional value to this drink. Y...u...mm...y…, is all I can say! So do make an extra glass.
